Lynne has written hundreds of letters over her lifetime. She wrote, Please Write, because she has always believed that handwritten letters are one of the most authentic, joyful, and remarkable gifts one person can give to another, especially needed, and appreciated during these times of increasing social isolation and loneliness. Using facts, personal memoir and the stories of others, Kolze makes the case that love can fill hearts, create delight, and even change lives.

Lynne Kolze grew up near Chicago, but now lives in Minnesota. Before she began writing non-fiction, Lynne earned a bachelor’s degree in Water Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University. Lynne’s passions in life have been environmental protection, public service, and connecting with people. She began her career working for the Environmental Protection Agency, later worked for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for many years, and then decided to try writing creatively. Please Write is Lynne’s first book.
